The Rise of Entrepreneurship in Turkey and the Middle East: Successes, Failures, and the Future

The conference examined the causes behind the economic and to a lesser extent political success of Turkey during the past decade.It was organized by the Berkeley Program on Entrepreneurship and Development in the Middle East and supported by the Clausen Center. The conference sought to identify the key components behind the success of the Turkish developmental model–and its applicability to the region. By drawing upon top experts and practitioners from the business, academic, and policy making communities the conference endeavored to illuminate the macro-economic, governance,foreign policy, banking, legal, cultural, and institutional contributors to the success of Turkish model.
