The Conference is the Berkeley Haas’ Latin and Hispanic Business Association most important event, contributing to fulfill its vision of becoming a leading organization inside our university. It is the opportunity to increase the relevance of Latin American business issues among MBA students and the larger UC Berkeley and San Francisco Bay Area environment.
Held annually at Haas since 2010, the Conference is a full-day event, featuring highly respected business and political leaders who share their experiences and insights. It is a space for learning, sharing and debating about current trends and business opportunities.

About the Latin and Hispanic Business Association (LAHBA)
LAHBA is one of the largest student-run associations of the Haas School of Business. LAHBA unites students from all backgrounds who share an interest in Latin America, organizing and sponsoring activities to heighten the cultural, economic, and political awareness of the region at Haas and UC Berkeley.

Every year the Latin American and Hispanic Business Association (LAHBA) groups approximately 100 students with a wide variety of interests and a multi-disciplinary background from Latin America and other countries.

UC Berkeley’s Clausen Center for International Business and Policy will hold its inaugural Conference on Global Economic Issues on Saturday, November 21, 2015. Participants include Benoit Coeuré, member of the Executive Board of the ECB; John Williams, president of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco; Maury Obstfeld, IMF Economic Counsellor and Director of Research; Joachim Fels, Pimco; Hélène Rey, Professor at the London Business School; Michael Melvin, Managing Director at BlackRock Inc.; as well as Barry Eichengreen, Christina Romer, David Romer, and Annette Vissing-Jorgensen, all from UC Berkeley.

This event will examine developments in U.S. Monetary Policy and its global impact; the (un)changing nature of financial crises and their aftermath; and the evolution of the International Financial System with the prospects for RMB internationalization and the influence of the global financial cycle.

Conference transportation is provided from the Hyatt Regency Hotel to UC Berkeley, Banatao Auditorium on Saturday November 21.  Boarding begins at 8:15am.  Please note; the bus departs from the Market Street side of the hotel (the other side of the main lobby entrance) at 8:30am.

For those attending the post-conference reception cruise, transportation is also provided from the conference venue to the Berkeley Marina.

Accommodation will be provided for out-of-town attendees. Please indicate if lodging is desired when completing your registration form and a reservation will be made on your behalf. We strongly recommend that all attendees register by September 30, 2015.

Hornblower boat charter begins boarding at 5:45pm and departs at 6:00pm from Doubletree Hotel Marina, 200 Marina Blvd., Berkeley.  Please note: The boat charter is only one-way and disembarks at Pier 3 at the SF Ferry Building at 7:45pm.
